 [re] About Zygoma Reduction |
 |
 |
Dear Jenny,
Thank you for your interest in my clinic.
My clinic has the highest specialty in zygoma reduction and many foreign patients come to my clinic for this surgery.
1. I usually don't use any wires or metallic things to fix the moved zygoma.
But sometimes (not often), I use very thin wires.
This thin wires don't have to be removed and don't provoke any pain or problems.
Not using any fixating material is more difficult technique.
Limited dissection and impingement of cut bone following the vectors of natural forces around zygoma are keys.
2. There is limitation in inward movement of zygoma.
Too much inward movement can inhibit the movement of jaw bone in mouth opening and closing.
Zygoma movement is not a linear inward movement.
In fact, it moves inward, downward, backward.
So, measuring or expressing the movement of zygoma in millimeter is not accurate and has no meaning at all.
3. You can wash your face and hair after 3 days.
Brushing wihout toothpaste is allowed after 5 days.
Brushing with toothpaste is allowed after 7 days.
4. In every surgery, there is bleeding and bruise not because of metallic but because of operation itself.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Regards,
Hyuncheol Park MD
