Dear Jenn,

Thank you for your interest in my clinic.
Many people use eyelid glue or tape to make double fold crease.
But all plastic surgeons don't recommend that because it can make the eyelid skin thick and irregular.
In doing double fold surgery, it can make your double fold scar more prominent or irregular and you can have more bruise and swelling.
So, you should stop using tape and sharp edges at least 2 weeks before surgery.
In fact, the longer you stop using that, the better the result is.
Sometimes, we recommend applying steroid cream to make the skin recovered.

Many patients are startled after making the double fold crease at the same line as the tape.
The mechanism of making double fold by tape and by surgery are totally different.
So, you should not make your double fold crease at the same line as you made it using tape.
The surgeon will keep in mind the shape of double fold you made by tape and will decide the line of incision which will make the similar double fold when you open your eyes.
Experienced surgeons know where to incise to make the similar double fold crease.
That's totally doctor's decision, not the patient's decision.

>I've been using eyelid tapes and used sharp edges to create a crease.
>However, whenever i wake up after sleeping, it becomes undone and i have to use my hands to create the eyelid
>I have scars on my eyelid from using sharp edges and the tapes.
> If i get  eyelid surgery, can i get it in the same place as where the scars are? or would the scars be a problem?
