|Korean government will impose 10 % tax on nearly every plastic surgery in 2014.|
Korean government started to impose 10 % value added tax (VAT) on 5 popular cosmetic procedures (double eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, breast surgery, liposuction, and facelift) from July, 2011.
But, there has been no added tax on the other procedures like facial bone procedures, calf reduction, hair removal, hair graft, acne treatment, filler and Botox treatment.
From next year, Korean government is going to impose 10 % VAT on the other procedures.
Because of political reason, it was not yet passed at the parliament, but, I guess, it will be approved soon.
The move came as the government has been making efforts to broaden the tax revenue base to expand benefits to those in the lower-income people, small companies and to create jobs.
10% tax imposing on all plastic surgery procedures will be imposed on nearly every plastic surgery in 2014.
